NHL Highlights: Predators vs Wild - Boldy's Hat-Trick & OT Thriller (2026)

In a thrilling overtime showdown, Boldy shone brightly, contributing significantly to the Predators’ victory over the Wild with a score of 5-4. The game concluded dramatically when Spurgeon found the back of the net with a precise wrist shot from the right face-off circle, expertly set up by Boldy during a fast-paced offensive maneuver.

Quinn Hughes was instrumental for the Wild, registering two assists, while Filip Gustavsson demonstrated his skills by stopping 30 shots, helping his team maintain a remarkable five-game winning streak, now holding a record of 34 wins, 14 losses, and 10 ties.

On the other side, the Predators, who improved their record to 26 wins, 23 losses, and 7 ties, saw standout performances from Steven Stamkos, who not only scored a goal but also provided two assists. Ryan O'Reilly made his mark with three assists, and both Filip Forsberg and Roman Josi contributed with a goal and an assist each. In goal, Juuse Saros was busy, making an impressive 38 saves throughout the match.

The game took a turn in the third period when Vladimir Tarasenko put the Wild ahead 5-4 at 15:14, scoring on a shot that fortuitously deflected off the stick of Predators defenseman Nick Blankenburg. However, Josi quickly equalized for Nashville just 34 seconds later, scoring a slick wrist shot through traffic at 15:48, bringing the score to 5-5.

Boldy's journey began early in the first period; he netted the first goal of the game at 1:49, slipping the puck through the five-hole during a breakaway after receiving a clever flip pass from Zach Bogosian. He then doubled the score to 2-0 at 3:39 with a power-play goal, redirecting a pass from Hughes into the net.

Forsberg responded for Nashville at 9:26 with a power-play goal of his own, managing to poke the puck into an open net following a shot from Josi that slipped past Gustavsson.

Boldy struck again, completing his hat trick at 12:58 to extend the Wild's lead to 3-1. His third goal came from a deft backhand chip after Blankenburg's clearing attempt inadvertently hit Predators forward Michael McCarron.

Stamkos, not to be outdone, scored on the power play at 16:45, pulling Nashville closer at 3-2 with a one-timer from the left circle that deflected off Boldy’s stick. The excitement continued as Erik Haula tied the game at 3-3 just before the end of the first period, scoring at the right post from a backhand pass by Jonathan Marchessault from behind the net.

Nashville took the lead for the first time when Luke Evangelista found the net just 41 seconds into the second period, scoring off a rebound from Stamkos’s shot. But the Wild’s resilience shone through once more as Yakov Trenin tied it 4-4 at 16:06 with a backhand shot after Josi lost control of the puck near the crease.
