She stated, "On World Cancer Day, my thoughts are with everyone who is facing a cancer diagnosis, undergoing treatment or finding their way through recovery. Cancer impacts numerous lives—not just those diagnosed, but also their families, friends, and caregivers who stand by their side.
"Anyone who has walked this path understands that it’s not a straightforward experience. There are times filled with fear and fatigue, but there are also instances of incredible strength, kindness, and deep connections.
"Today serves as a reminder of the critical need for care, compassion, and hope. Please remember, you are not alone in this fight."
Accompanying her narration is footage from her visit to the Royal Marsden Hospital last January, a day she chose to share her own news of being in remission. The princess underwent significant abdominal surgery in January 2024, during which doctors discovered signs of cancer, leading her to endure a challenging regimen of preventative chemotherapy.
In March, she made a personal announcement via video about her condition, revealing that she had completed her treatment. However, she cautioned that her recovery and eventual return to royal duties would be gradual. By January of the following year, she joyfully confirmed her remission but again sought public understanding regarding her pace of reintegration into public life. In her social media message, she expressed relief at being in remission and looked forward to a fulfilling year ahead.
Sources have revealed to the Daily Mail that while the princess shared a written statement last year, this marked the first time she recorded such a personal message. Her visit to the Royal Marsden, where Kate serves as a joint patron alongside her husband, was particularly poignant as it was her first solo engagement following her chemotherapy treatment.
