Xiaomi's Redmi Note 15 5G boasts a stunning 6.77-inch AMOLED display, delivering an exceptional viewing experience. With a peak brightness of 3,200 nits, a 120Hz refresh rate, and HDR10+ support, it excels in various lighting conditions. Despite a FullHD+ resolution of 1080 x 2392 pixels, the display's 388 ppi ensures sharp visuals. Our tests revealed impressive brightness levels, reaching 605 nits manually and 1,524 nits automatically, with a true peak of 3,317 nits. This makes it highly readable under direct sunlight and ideal for HDR video.
The panel's 12-bit color depth and DCI-P3 support result in vibrant, accurate colors with minimal color banding. The 120Hz refresh rate offers two modes: adaptive, which dynamically adjusts between 30Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz, and custom, allowing users to lock the panel at 60Hz or enable 120Hz for specific apps.
Battery and Charging
The Redmi Note 15 5G houses a substantial 5,520 mAh battery, ensuring long-lasting performance. Our tests confirmed over 14 hours of active use, with excellent battery life across various scenarios. The 45W wired fast charging is efficient, reaching 32% in 15 minutes and 55% in 30 minutes, and fully charging in 1 hour and 7 minutes. Additionally, 18W reverse wired charging allows the device to be used as a power bank, though it's slightly lower than some Redmi Note 15 models.
Speakers and Audio
The device features a stereo speaker setup with a bottom-firing and top-firing speaker. While channel balance is good, audio quality is respectable, offering a wide soundstage and rich mids. Bass is minimal, and high-frequency distortion becomes noticeable at extreme volumes. Xiaomi prioritizes loudness, with a volume slider reaching 300%, compared to 400% on the Redmi Note 15 Pro 5G.
Connectivity and Sensors
The Redmi Note 15 5G supports dual Nano-SIM with SA/NSA 5G on both slots. It lacks eSIM and Wi-Fi 6 support, but includes Bluetooth 5.3, NFC (in some markets), and an IR blaster. The Type-C port supports USB 2.0, and the device features an STMicro accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, compass, and light sensor. Unfortunately, it lacks a barometer and proximity sensor.
